Chris Barney's Obituary
Chris Barney, born in Salt Lake City, May 29, 1973, passed away unexpectedly on December 14th, 2022. Chris was the youngest son of Elliot M Barney and Susan E (Asay) Barney.
Chris lived his life in SLC, and developed many skills with various work throughout his life. Early in life he was a cook and later worked various warehouse jobs. He worked hard and took pride in doing his job well. Chris loved animals and was almost never without a dog, his most recent pets Jake and Sadie were his loved companions. Chris made friends with everyone easily throughout his life. He was giving and caring and would do anything he could for friends and family. He was a special kind hearted soul who strived to make others laugh and smile as much as he could. He had enormous amount of love for his family and although not always in contact, when he could he would always express his love for them, especially for his nieces and nephews. Chris also had great love for his fiancé, Stephenie Evans. When they met it was love at first sight and were inseparable and happily in love for the past 2 1/2 years. Chris was a sensitive caring person who wanted nothing more in life than to share his love for others and be loved.
He was preceded in death by his mother Susan E. (Asay) Barney, and his canine companion Jake. He is survived by father Elliot M Barney (wife Lorrie) his brother Jon Barney (wife Jill and sons Zach, Jack, Justin & wife Kayla and nephew DJ) and his sister Cynthia (Barney) Green (Anthony and daughters Alexandra, Brittany and Christine) and his fiancé Stephenie Evans.
Chris loved to make others laugh and smile would love to be remembered with funny, strange, or silly stories that celebrate what was good in his life.
