Christian Shawn Walbom's Obituary
Christian Shawn Walbom December 9, 1977 – June 5, 2026 Christian Shawn Walbom has moved on to his next adventure, reuniting with his parents in the campground of eternity.
Christian was a lover of many things—nature, space, woodworking, gardening, loud 80s rock music, and the Green Bay Packers. A proud Packers cheese head, he shared his love of the team with his father and never missed an opportunity to cheer them on.
Like his grandfather, he never outgrew his love of ice cream, and like his mother, he could often be found lost in the pages of a good book. He found joy in the simple moments of life, taking time to stop and smell the flowers, learn something new, or reflect on his spiritual journey and the possibilities beyond this world. Christian was always curious and enjoyed learning about people, cultures, and different ways of life. He had a deep compassion for those facing hardship, particularly those in the unhoused community. He believed in helping others whenever he could.
Throughout his life, Christian faced complex health challenges, including epilepsy and mental health struggles. Despite these challenges, he continued to seek understanding, advocate for epilepsy awareness and research, and navigate life with determination.
Above all, Christian was a son, a brother, a father, and a friend. He had a larger-than-life presence and left an impression wherever he went. His curiosity, generosity, and unique spirit will be remembered by all who knew him.
Christian was preceded in death by his parents, Kathryn and Kregg Walbom, and his grandparents, Mary and Walt Hemingway.
He is survived by his sons, Tallyn Walbom and Deryck Walbom (Lydia); his sister, Shalome Orton (Troy); his nieces, Aspen and Megan; his nephew, Bryton (Isabelle); and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
The family will not be holding a public service. Instead, they will gather privately at a later date to release Christian's ashes, allowing them time to be together, honor his memory, and continue healing as a family. If you would like to honor Christian's memory, we encourage you to do so in whatever way feels meaningful to you. Whether it's spending time in nature, helping someone in need, or supporting a cause he cared deeply about, we hope you'll take a moment to remember the passions that made him uniquely Christian.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Christian's memory to the Epilepsy Foundation or Shriners Children's.
