Christine Campbell
December 21, 1951- November 3, 2023
Christine Campbell sadly passed away unexpectedly, from complications of 2 strokes, on
November 3, 2023. She was born in Richfield, Utah and later moved to Provo, Utah where she
had a wonderful childhood.
She earned an Elementary Teaching Degree at Brigham Young University, and taught 2nd and
4th grades for many years. Later she received her counseling degree from The University of
Utah and finished her career as a Junior High School Counselor.
She learned to play the violin as a child and continued to play in orchestras at Farrer Jr. High
and Provo High School. She was a member of the Young Ambassadors at BYU where she
toured with them through the United States, Mexico and Central America. She continued to
enjoy playing in orchestras and her Church. She also learned to fiddle and entered several
contests. Her most prized honor was winning 1st Place, of the women’s division, at the National
Fiddle Contest in Weiser, Idaho.
She loved collecting Fine Art and jewelry. She taught herself how to create stained glass art,
beading jewelry, as well as playing the piano, the mandolin and the viola.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Wayne D. Campbell and Louine Nielson; her brothers,
Samuel Wayne., and Lansing Joseph Campbell, and her sister,Madeleine Claire Johnson. She
is survived by sisters Jannine (Brent) Bowcut, Pauline Francis-Lane, and one brother, Marcel
Vefond. Campbell; her sister-in-law, Corinne Campbell, and nieces, Jennifer (Bryce) Frandsen,
and Tiffany (Trek) Nielsen.
She chose to keep teaching after death, through donating her body to the University of Utah.
Her Memorial Mass will be Monday, November 13, 2023 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church on
210 Chapel Street, Layton, Utah at 10:00 am
