Christopher (Chris) Jaramillo
June 11, 1935- June 21, 2026
Christopher (Chris) Jaramillo, a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home in West Valley City on June 21, 2026, at the age of 91.
Christopher was born June 11, 1935, in Fruita, Colorado, to Raymond and Esther Jaramillo. Chris married Lila Martinez on January 12, 1954, and they eventually moved to Utah to raise their family. After Lila’s passing, Chris reconnected with his childhood friend, Virginia Trujillo (Garcia), and they were married on June 21, 2008.
Chris always had a passion for cars and translated this love into his career, working as a car detailer at Carlson Cadillac for over 30 years. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and woodworking. He took immense pride in keeping a beautiful yard and was honored with the West Valley Beautification Award in 2015. He also enjoyed taking trips out to Wendover with his family and friends. Above all, his greatest joy in life was being surrounded by his family.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Jaramillo; his children, Kathy (Richard) Archibeque, Linda Martinez, Chris (Janet) Jaramillo, Mark (Tammy) Jaramillo, Lucy (Scott) Burton, Steve Romero, Victor (Jodi) Garcia, and Yolanda (Dino) Chavez; five brothers; two sisters; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Lila Jaramillo; daughter, Irene Arbuckle; son-in-law, Ken Martinez; grandson, Ethan Newman; granddaughter, Tiffany Jaramillo; his sister, Sally Anne Maestas; and brothers, Raymond Jaramillo and Robert Tafoya.
A Celebration of Life will be held on July 25, 2026, from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm at The Cove at Herriman Springs Clubhouse, 6894 W New Maple Dr Herriman,UT 84096. Lunch will be served. We ask that you please wear red in honor of his favorite color.
A graveside service will be held on July 27, 2026, at 11:00am at Valley View Memorial Park
