Cindy Elizabeth Gibson's Obituary
Cindy Elizabeth Gibson (Martinez)
September 28, 1958 ~ May 25, 2024
Our loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend, Cindy E. Gibson (Martinez), passed away at the age of 65 on Saturday May 25th, 2024.
Cindy was born on September 28, 1958 in Ogden, Utah to Elmer Albert Martinez and Mary Louise Martinez. She was the fourth of eight children.
Mom had a big heart. She was a friend to all and she strived to help anyone she could. Mom donated to many charities, always doing her best to take care of others.
While not always easy, mom worked hard all her life. She was the first female student body president at Mound Fort Jr. High. She had a lengthy career at the IRS and a string of small jobs until her health slowed her down. Mom always kept everything so clean and very organized. Now we know this is where we get it from.
Mom had a knack for winning bets. She could beat anyone at a game of pool or a round of darts. Even when it came to bingo time with her mom, she always had Lady Luck on her side.
Cindy had one son and three daughters.
Cindy loved her children and had an especially strong bond with her son, Ange. They loved spending time together, sharing music and cheering on the Raiders.
Mom is preceded in death by her loving son Miguel Angel Enriquez and her father Elmer A. Martinez. She is survived by her children Aisha Enriquez, Vallie (Ronnie) Villastrigo, and Sandi (Alexandra) Gallegos. She is also survived by her mother, Mary L. Martinez, as well as her five brothers and two sisters, Anna (Jerry) Angus, Elmer “Mike” Martinez, Dean (Wendy) Martinez, John (Manuelita) Martinez, Anthony “Tony” Martinez, Rick Martinez, and MaryLou Martinez. She leaves behind 13 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
“May the angels lead you to paradise.”
Please join us celebrating her life on Saturday June 8th, 2024, between 2 pm - 4 pm at Premier Funeral Services located at 5335 South 1950 West, Roy, Utah 84067.
