Clara Louise Adams Carter's Obituary
Clara Louise Adams Carter, age 78, passed away surrounded by her family on October 9, 2010 in Provo, Utah. She is reunited with her daughters, Sarah Lynn and Clarissa May. Born July 13, 1923 in Globe, Arizona to George Rudger and Ruby May Hancock Adams. She was the fifth of 12 children. She met Melvin Winsor Carter on a hay ride. They fell in love and were married in the Mesa, Arizona Temple on December 15, 1950. Each of them was the center of each other’s life. Clara is a dedicated and loving mother to 15 children, grandmother to 64 grandchildren and great-grandmother to 8. She lived a life of selfless service, leaving a lasting example of devotion to her fellowmen. Besides numerous callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Clara served 5 missions with Melvin in McAllen, Texas; Atlanta, Georgia; the Salt Lake City Family History mission twice and in the Provo Utah mission home. Clara’s focus was always on the individual. Clara will continue as she did in life, loving and watching over her family and fellowmen. Funeral services held Wednesday October 13, 2010 at 11:00 am at the Provo Sunset 10th ward building, 1402 S 570 W. A viewing will be held an hour prior to the service for family and friends. Burial will be at the Spanish Fork Cemetary.
