Clarence Gabbot Smith's Obituary
Clarence Gabbott Smith, age 85, passed away at his home in Kearns, Utah August 26, 2019. Clarence was born on September 22, 1933 to Alonzo Clarence Smith and Lillian May Gabbott. He was the oldest of 5 children. He was raised in Salt Lake City until he was twelve when the family moved to Murray. He graduated from Murray High School in 1952, and later that same year he joined the Air Force. Clarence served during the Korean War.
Clarence married his high school sweetheart Anna Loraine Miller on December 26, 1952 in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they had Eight children, six boys and two girls. He was very proud of them. He loved his family. Clarence had many church callings. Sunday School President but mostly he was a teacher.
Clarence is survived by his wife Loraine; children Scott Smith (June), Steven Smith (Lethia), Bobbie Smith, Barbara Smith, Kristen Coon (Aaron), Jon Paul Smith, Patricia Spicer (Robert), and Jamie Smith; grandchildren Carrie, Melissa, Matthew, Greg, Veronica, Mary, Michelle, Leslie, Katie, John, Charity, Kimberley, Kristopher, Nathan, Ryan, Shayla, Cosette, Kyle, Olympia, Jon Paul, Kendrick, Jake, and Jason; great grandchildren Will, Gordan, Ellie, Lydia, Rigby, Meredith, Charlette, Emily, Bella, Lexi, Roy, Charlotte, McKenna, Sophie, Ryker, Nick, Brie-Anna, Nataliya, Connor, Kaitlyn, Bailey, Liam, Logan, Charlie, Kyler and one great great granddaughter Riley; sisters Esther Smith and Vivian Wood (Dean). Preceded in death by parents, Scott and Anna Miller (in-laws), sons Douglas and Miles Smith, sisters Jeanette and Violet Smith, and grandchildren, Kyle Smith, Caleb Smith, and Rebecca Smith.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, August 30, 2019 at the Kearns 10th Ward, located at 5025 West 4865 South Kearns, Utah. Viewings will be held Thursday evening, August 29 from 6-8:00 pm and again on Friday morning beginning at 9:30 am, also at the church. Interment to follow at Valley View Cemetery.
