I learned today of Clark’s passing. What a powerful impact he was in my life! I met Clark at Granger High School. I was a year older than him. We also lived in the same stake but not the same ward. I don’t remember exactly but I think I was introduced to Clark by Lisa Kilburn. At the least, I know Lisa was his friend as well.
Because we lived in the same neighborhood I would sometimes give Clark a ride home from school. He liked to talk to me about playing the trumpet because he used to play before his surgery, and I played trumpet in the Jazz band at school. Clark liked to bowl and I took him a couple times to Delton Lanes on 3500 South near the high school to go bowling.
As life goes, I lost contact with Clark after high school. We did happen to cross paths several years ago in West Jordan. I was so happy to see him and he still remembered me.
Clark helped me begin to learn as a teenager how to think about somebody else’s needs and challenges and get outside myself. I’m glad to say he was my friend and I’m so very happy for him that he is now free of physical limitations while he waits for a glorious resurrection he most assuredly deserves!
