Claudia was born to James Carl Strain and Thelma Rockwood Strain August 4, 1936
Claudia was preceded in Death by her Parents James Carl, and Thelma Rockwood Strain and daughter Terrie Lee Gehrke.
Claudia is survived by three brothers and one sister. Stanley C. Strain (Barbara), Dennis R. Strain (Darlene), Ronald Judd Strain (Theresa), Debbie Strain Johnson (Robby)
Claudia was a mother to 4 children, Jon Patrick Gehrke (Bobbie), Stacey Lynn Braithwaite, Terrie Lee Gehrke, Christine Ann Green (Kelly Graves)
Claudia had 9 grandchildren Brittney Jean, Jess Gehrke (Deirdre), Holly Hall (Justin), Benjamin Gehrke (Katie), Jill Huber (George), Heidi Canning (Dan), Jacob Gehrke (Gabby) Tyler Hill (Heather), and Alex Green (Courtney). 22 great grandchildren, Brody, Brandon, Brooke, Braelyn, William, Ethan, Abigail, Kapree, Kayda, Kyron, Nick, Siobhan, Peyton, Reese, Bentley, Jayde, Gunner, Crosby, Hazel, Myles, Harper and Hudson.
Claudia loved each of her children and grandchildren dearly. She was named soccer grandma. She supported her grandchildren in anything they did. She also spent her time taking each one of them shopping for their birthdays. Claudia was very talented she made rope plant holders, dish towels and was quite the knitter, knitting sweaters for her kids and grandkids. She was also a very talented seamstress. She loved baking known especially for her popular Harvey wall banger cake. She would bake one for each of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and her friends. Her example of unconditional love was amazing. She never judged anyone and always saw the best in people.
Due to the COVID A service will be held in her honor Saturday July 18, 2020 at Flaming Gorge UT. Most Family members will either be staying in Vernal. Time of service has not yet been determined.
