Colleen May Green Hudson Camp's Obituary
I was born on a farm in Twin Falls, Idaho to Jesse Green and Melba Call, the 4th of 6 children. Three years later we moved to Eureka, California where my father worked inn the logging industry. During the Depression and WW11 my father, like many others, worked at the shipyard building barges for the war. My first school was a one room school with my three brothers, aunt and two uncles. We moved to Washington for three years then returned to California where I lived for the next 50 years!
On August 10, 1951 I married my high school sweetheart, eternal companion and love of my life, Edward Hudson. He was taken way too soon in 1969. On August 14, 1971 I married Frank Camp and had some good years before losing him also in 1977.
I was extremely fortunate to start working for Pacific Bell Telephone Company in 1951. I found this job to be rewarding. After years of hard work, I became the very first female long-distance engineer in my area. In 1985 I retired after 32+ years of service.
I am proud to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Over the years I have had the opportunity to help others which has enriched my life in so many ways. I have proudly served as Relief Society President/Teacher and also as a Stake/Church Service Missionary. Over the years I have quilted a lot of blankets to donate to worthwhile causes, it has brought me much joy. I am a member of The Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, Camp Olive.
There are so many people that I have loved and that have loved me. These people and the memories we have are priceless. Thank you all for being a part of my life, my journey. How lucky I have been to travel to so many places and to see so much of our beautiful world. My time spent playing Pinochle and Mahjong with my friends has been wonderful, I will miss you.
I have been preceded in death by my husbands, parents, brothers Eugene (Patricia), John (Aliene), Boyd (Geraldine) and my nephew Brian Green. I am survived by my sister Darlene (John) Hedges. Also surviving me is my dear sister Diane Suley and her husband Michael Suley. They have lovingly taken me into their home and cared for me for many years. Words cannot convey just how much this has meant to me. I Love you both with all my heart and I am eternally grateful! To all my family and friends, I love you and will miss you.
