Connie was 'magic'! She saw everything and everybody in a magical, generous, beautiful light! We loved each other from Farmington days when she taught me about perennial flowers and weeded my garden with me as we visited. I loved hearing her describe almost any experience she had because she made it sound yes- magical! Dave was the love of her life and he made anything Connie wanted to do, possible. His love and patience and constant nurturing to Connie was beautiful. They were a team that was an example for all of us.
We loved the time Dave and Connie and Max and Art visited us in Manhattan while we were there on a mission. Art learned a New York subway lesson when he did not get off in time with the rest of us and rode away from us- Connie cried and was sure she never would see her son again! We love memories with the Allen's and we love the Allen's! Dave, you were a devoted example of love and service and we love you for it.

When Connie first came to me as a dental patient she said she was so fearful of the dentist that she had to take a valium just to make the appointment for an exam. She overcame her anxiety over the years and I was able to do root canal therapy, oral surgery and crowns and bridges for her. When she became my dental office manager she was so good with the patients who were fearful. She could empathize with them and she was so kind, caring and loving. She remembered the names of our patients and would greet and talk to them at the grocery store or wherever she met them. She developed such Christ like attributes of compassion and charity. I hope that I can follow her example and learn to develop those same attributes. Connie was a blessing to me and to my dental practice and I will always be grateful to her. Ralph Larsen

Connie and I got to know each other when she and her family became our around-the-corner neighbors. We soon found out that our mothers were classmates at Davis High (Both still remembered each other!) and her cousin was my classmate in both Jr High and High School in Ogden, where I grew up. You couldn't visit long with Connie without finding connections. She knew so many people and always had a fun story to share.
Connie was a loyal friend and always made a point of waving or honking if she didn't have time to stop for a chat. Her backyard was something you would find in a magazine and represented hours of hard work and planning with the help of her sweet husband, Dave, who she adored. She was proud of her family and their talents and accomplishments.
Connie could be 'out-spoken" and might have ruffled feathers on occasion, but she was also tender hearted and loyal when she knew you loved and appreciated her for who she was. She was kind and caring to her aged mother who lived to be over 100.
Once she did a short demo in Relief Society telling us how to take care of produce and I remember her explaining how she washed everything with soap and water as soon as she brought it home from the store or garden including things with skins that you probably wouldn't eat! I think of her with a smile every time I wash my apples... even when I peel them!
I'm sorry she's left us and my husband Gary and I express our deepest sympathy to Dave, her family and those closest to her.
