Connie Kay Dean's Obituary
Connie Kay Dean passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family and friends on Friday, January 31, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born on May 14, 1944, in Ogden, Utah, the daughter of Von and Clara Holmes. She grew up in South Ogden alongside family and friends. Her days were spent with family and her beloved husband enjoying life and shopping till her car could hold no more! She was a shopaholic, the retail warrior who can turn a casual window shopping into a marathon of bags, receipts, and credit card swipes. Shopping allowed mom to express her personal style and creativity…shop till you drop!
Connie met and married her soulmate, Larry Lavar Dean, on August 24, 1962. Later they were sealed for time and all eternity on August 23, 1974, in the Salt Lake City Temple. They were blessed with one daughter and three sons.
Connie was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She served in various callings and always had a strong testimony of her Savior and His gospel.
Connie is survived by her children Kari (Steve), Darin, Shawn (Jill), and Travis (Kristen). Connie and Larry have eleven grandchildren, four great grandchildren with another one on the way. She is also survived by her siblings, Janene, Lynda, Terry, and Randy. She was preceded in death by her husband Larry, parents, Von and Clara, niece Tammy Cook, and nephew Jason Dean.
One of her favorite things to do was spend time with family laughing and making memories. She loved life and lived it to the fullest. She found great joy in walking the scenic paths of North Ogden, where she met many people whom she called her “trail friends”. Through these encounters, she formed lifelong friendships that will endure beyond her passing. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate to know her.
She was blessed with unwavering support of friends (we call them angels) who stepped in with kindness and dedication when her children could not be there. To these people we say thank you for being so kind and loving to our mother.
We would like to thank all the family, friends, nurses, doctors, and caregivers at CNS Home and Health Hospice.
