Corby was the most kind, respectful, loving, wonderful man ever. He was always “so chill” and very meticulous, he was a perfectionist in his own way and loved to cook and make up the best concoctions, especially his wonderful “soupy Mac-N- Cheese for which the grandchildren always wanted him to make when they would come to visit. He enjoyed coming up with different ideas for new ways to make drinks with Alcohol, they were worthy enough to repeat. Corby was unique in his own way and it was normal for him to have several projects going on at the same time that he loved tinkering with. He was very witty and his sense of humor made everyone laugh. His laugh, oh his laugh.. will never be forgotten. We all loved being around him and we miss him tremendously.
Corby had “nick names” for almost everyone, which some of them were hilarious. He was very proud of the completion of (Old Yeller); His Yellow 1979 Ford truck which he enjoyed adding as much yellow and black to the truck as he possibly could. Corby enjoyed spending time golfing with his dad up until his dad was no longer able to golf anymore due his illnesses.
Corby graduated from West High School in 1976, where he was a cheerleader along with many other social activities, he played the piano for the 1976 West High School Graduation Commencement at the Tabernacle. He attended the University of Utah and the Salt Lake Community College.
Corby had many jobs throughout his short life, but mostly in the hydraulic field. He started his own Hot Shot Courier Business (Corby’s Express Courier) March, 2010 for which he was very successful. He truly enjoyed his customers and made many great friends along the way.
Corby and Shelley were enjoying their life together, camping in their motor home, exploring in their side by side, attending the races (Formula1 & Nascar) and just being around family and friends. They had so many plans for the future, but was cut short too soon. His Beard… Oh how he took pride in his beard that he had been growing for over 15 years. (Shelley loved his Beard too). He loved animals (except birds and snakes), Many of the joys in his life were his Koi Fish, his pond and his frogs. His sanction was his back yard sitting by the pond watching the fish and just chilling. He enjoyed playing the piano. He also enjoyed being around his grandchildren, and his “bonus” grandchildren, for which he enjoyed teasing and making them laugh.
A very special and private “celebration of life” was held on January 18, 2025. Corby’s love for those who were around him was immense, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Corby was loved by so many and will be deeply missed.
Have I told you I Love you today?
Rest in Peace My Love; You truly are, and will ever be. “The Love of My Life”
Love, your Princess.
In addition to the above, Cody would like to share his thoughts.
Dad was a man of remarkable kindness, strength, and love. He lived his life with purpose, always putting family first and leaving a legacy of compassion and generosity.
Family was the cornerstone of Dad’s life. He shared an incredibly close bond with his mother, Kathy Wolfe, whose love and care shaped him into the man he became. As she faces the challenges of dementia, I know she carries his love and memories deep in her heart, just as he always carried hers.
Dad was also deeply connected to his father, Jerry Wolfe, who passed away in November 2023. I take comfort in knowing they are reunited now, sharing stories, laughter, and love.
One of the greatest joys in Dad’s life was his marriage to Shelley, the love of his life. When they married on February 22, 2022, it was clear they were meant for each other. Shelley brought so much happiness and light into Dad’s world, and together they created a bond filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support. Shelley, you completed Dad’s life in a way that no words can fully express.
To his sisters, Lorie and Julie, Dad was a steadfast brother and a lifelong friend. He treasured the bond you shared and always spoke of you with love and pride.
As a father, Dad was a guide and a hero to Nicole and I. He taught us what it means to love unconditionally and to face life with courage and grace. He also adored his grandchildren-Kaydence, McKade, Kinlee, Rose and Phoebe. They brought him so much pride and joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
Dad’s legacy goes beyond his family. He had a way of making everyone feel seen, valued, and appreciated. Whether it was with a smile, a helping hand, or a heartfelt conversation, he touched countless lives and made the world a better place.
Though it’s hard to imagine life without him, I know his spirit lives on in the love he shared, the lessons he taught, and the memories we’ll carry forward.
Dad, you were the heart of our family. Your love for Shelley, your devotion to your family, and your kindness to all will never be forgotten. Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we will honor your memory by living with the same love, strength, and compassion that you showed us every day.
Rest in peace Dad. We love you, and you will forever be in our hearts.
