Craig Lynn Dangerfield's Obituary
Craig Lynn Dangerfield, 67, of Sandy Utah passed away Saturday Feb. 18, 2023 at IMC hospital in Murray, UT due to complications following a spinal surgery. He was born to Clarence & Darlene Dangerfield on November 29, 1955. He was the 4th of eight children in the family, whom he loved dearly. They made their home just off 3300 South in the East Millcreek area.
Craig held a variety of jobs throughout his life, including working at a sporting goods warehouse, fiberglass manufacture, bike shop, in the oil fields of Wyoming, Lipton Sales, armored transportation and most recently at Murray City School District as a special needs bus driver.
As a dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, he served in many callings, including temple worker at the Salt Lake Temple (where he met his future wife) and Draper Temple, Ward clerk, scout leader, Sunday School and Primary teacher. He is now serving his “4th Mission” in heaven after having served as a missionary in the Birmingham England Mission as a young man, Billings Montana Mission and Decker Lake Youth Correctional Facility, the latter two with his Eternal Companion Joanne.
Dad loved BYU football, movies, spicy foods, riding historical trains, road trips with his sweetheart, taking (too many) photos and videos and playing with his grand kids. He was a selfless father who always put the needs of children before his own. He was a patient man with an endlessly positive attitude and smile on his face. He had the “gift of gab” and could talk to anyone about anything . . . for a very long time. Everyone felt comfortable and welcome in his presence.
Craig is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Joanne Thomas Dangerfield. His three children: Jennifer (Chris) Lawson, Lyndon (Lindsay) Dangerfield, and Philip (Nicole) Dangerfield. His six grandchildren: Bradley, Kate, Andi, Zuri, Jack and Desmond. His siblings: Sandy (Chris), Clyde (Carol), Keith, Karen (Dane), Garth (Noni), Diane (James), and Lori and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew.
