CT Meeks' Obituary
C. T. Meeks, beloved father, grandpa and Papa went to be with the Lord on December 2, 2014. He was 95. He was born in Trent, Texas on November 23, 1919 to Robert and Silda Dora Meeks. He was the youngest of 13 children. He joined the United States Marine Corp. in 1941 and served for 6 years. He was in the 5th Marine division and fought in the battle on Iwo Jima. He was always proud to have been a marine and served his country.
He married his wife, Lodema on November 30, 1942. At the time of his death, C.T. lived in Woodland Hills, Utah. He was a long time residence of Los Banos, California before moving to Utah in 2006. He owned several businesses in California. Los Banos Glass and Mirror, the Hickory-Pit Restaurant and T and M Glass and Construction. He also worked at Wal-Mart as a greeter for several years.
He is survived by his 2 daughters, Linetta ( Gary ) McSparen of Lomax, Illinois and Margaret (Joe ) Gomes of Los Banos, California. Also his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his wife, Lodema, on October 21, 2014 and by all his siblings. C.T. and his wife, Lodema, were married for nearly 72 years.
C. T. loved the Lord and loved working in the church. The following was one of his favorite songs. " What a day that will be, when my Jesus I shall see. When I look upon his face, the one who saved me by his grace, when he takes me by the hand and leads me to that promised land, what a day, glorious day that will be." He is enjoying that day now united with his Lord and Savior.
The family would like to thank everyone at Encompass Hospice and Mountain Air Assisted living for their care and compassion.
There will be no services now but a memorial service at a later date.
