Cyril Richard "Andy" Anderson

Cyril Richard “Andy” Anderson, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, foster father and mentor, passed away peacefully on the evening of Jan 28, 2023, at the age of 87. The viewing will be held on Feb 18, 10:30-11:45am, followed by the funeral service at noon at the church located at 1120 North 850 West in Provo, Utah. Interment will be at Provo City Cemetery, 610 South State, Provo, Utah. Andy was born in Provo, Utah, on Oct 12, 1935 to his loving parents Cyril R Anderson and Inez Emily Humphries. He grew up in Provo where he met his wife, Karma Hunter. They were married June 5, 1957, and were together for 62 wonderful years until Karma’s passing in 2019. He graduated from Provo High School in 1953, and served in the US Navy Reserve for eight years. He grew up working in his father’s service station on 500 West and 100 North in Provo, and later he took over the business and ran it himself for many years. Andy was adept at mechanics and engineering, he loved fast cars and boats, and he was always inventing things in his garage. Later he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering at Brigham Young University, and worked as General Manager at Signetics (later Philips), the Plant Manager at Eimco Mining Machinery, and a number of other jobs managing research, development, and manufacturing. Together with his wife, Karma, he raised seven children, and a number of foster and rescued children who also grew up in their home. He loved jazz and classical music and was an accomplished trumpet player. He had an unwavering testimony in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a strong conviction to duty. He expressed his testimony with his service, and was always the first to show up and last to leave when there was work to do. He dedicated his life to his family, and made his children his priority, giving up his own comforts to make sure every one of his children had all of the opportunities they needed to learn and grow. As a result, his impact on the world through his posterity is immeasurable, and he spoke proudly of every one of them right up to his last day. Among his children and grandchildren are a podiatric surgeon, clinical counselor, computer scientist, nuclear engineer, creative director, scientist, statistician, attorney, analyst, nurse, manager, soldier, charity worker, paralegal, interpreter, marketer, and business owners, teachers, authors, artists, managers, truck drivers, hard workers, parents, and several who are working their way through colleges, graduate schools, and law schools. He is survived by his children Teri [Merlon] Pusey, Cris [Doug] Robison, Cindee [Brady] Hanson, Keith [Kristi] Anderson, Mikol [Megan] Anderson, David Anderson, Shauna [Lonnie] Wilson, his sister Sandy [Roger] Whitby, 23 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and many foster and rescued children.
