Dale Roland Sipple's Obituary
Dale Roland Sipple was born August 18, 1947 to Ralph Sipple and Audrey Wilkerson in Dover, Delaware. He passed away peacefully on July 15, 2022 at age 74 in American Fork, Utah. He was the youngest child, little brother to Bobby and Kenny. As soon as Dale graduated high school and turned 18, he left home to join the US Navy. He served from 1965 to 1968 as a coxswain. Dale loved his time in the Navy. He spoke fondly of his memories and was proud of the years he served his country.
Dale was honorably discharged from the Navy and spent the next few years doing a little bit of everything, a lot of nothing, living footloose and fancy free. In 1969, Dale was in a motorcycle accident which nearly ended his life, but as fate would have it there was much more in store Dale. They say you can’t tame a wild man, but in 1971 a petite young woman with a sailor’s tongue did just that. Faye Morgan said, “Yes!” and Dale was off the market. Dale and Faye married in December 15, 1973 and young newlyweds settled into a little home in Delaware where the first of many life adventures were about to begin. In 1975, Dale and Faye welcomed their son, Wade Aaron, and their family was complete. Wade was their everything from day one. Dale AKA “Coach Sip” coached all of Wade’s little league baseball and Pop Warner football teams. Over the years, Dale coached hundreds of youths in the Phoenix Arizona Metro region. Coach Sip always made sure the boys stayed hydrated with “wudder” during practices or games in the relentless Arizona heat. He commonly was heard saying, “We’re in this for the kids.” and there is no doubt families of the kids he coached knew this. Dale was a jack of all trades and worked in a myriad of different industries. He owned several small businesses over the years, including a computerized embroidery business. As empty nesters, Dale and Faye purchased a little pop-up camper and made many trips to Rocky Point, Mexico where good times and margaritas flowed. In 2009, Dale and Faye retired from a working life and set up camp in Florence, AZ at the Caliente Casa de Sol RV Resort. Together they spent 15 years living in the park participating on various committees within the community. One of Dale’s favorite activities was the caring for and maintenance of one of the community cactus gardens behind his home. Amid the pandemic in late 2020, Dale and Faye decided to make a change, sold their home and purchased a 38FT Bounder Diesel Pusher RV to do some travelling. Their new adventure took them from Wickenburg, AZ to Cordes Junction, AZ meeting new friends, spending time with their grandchildren and great grandchildren. A year later, Dale got the bug to settle down and have some land again. In December 2021, Dale and Faye sold the RV and established a home in Meadview, AZ. One of their last adventures was setting in this quiet little community where they found the perfect home on a 1/2 acre with the most gorgeous views of the backwall of the West Grand Canyon.
Dale was preceded in death by his father Ralph, mother Audrey, and brothers Bobby and Kenny. Since the age of 52, Dale was “living on borrowed time” and reminded all of us of this. There was no greater accomplishment in Dale’s life than that of his family. He is survived by his wife, the love of his live, partner in crime and soulmate, Faye. His son and all-star Wade Sipple (Carrie), granddaughter and apple of his eye, Katlin “Katie” Susarus (Theo), grandson and buddy boy Mason Sipple. Dale was especially grateful and blessed to become a great grandfather twice! He was humbled to be part of Hudson Dean and Jensen Aris Susarus’s young lives.
The Sipple Family would like to share their deep appreciation and gratitude to the many doctors, nurses, and staff at the George E. Wahlen Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Huntsman Cancer Institute, Unified Fire Authority Eagle Mountain Fire Station 251, and Enhabit Home Health and Hospice. Additionally, we would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff and residents at Heritage Care Center in American Fork who shared their love and honored a fallen hero as he left the building. We will never forget you!
Services will be held at Utah Veterans Memorial Park in Bluffdale, UT on Thursday July, 28th 2022 at 11:00 am. The Sipple family requests that in lieu of cards or flowers, donations be made in Dale’s name to your preferred veterans or fight to cure cancer organization. F*&k cancer!
We love you Pop! Go dip your toes in the ocean, visit every baseball stadium, take in in all the ball games you want, take five and drink some Bloody Mary’s. We got Mom and will take good care of her for you.
