Dallin David Steed's Obituary
With profound sadness we announce the passing of Dallin David Steed, our beloved son, brother, Dad, and friend, who left us too soon on September 17, 2024, at the age of 38. Born on July 15, 1986, in Ogden, Utah, Dallin brought joy and laughter to everyone he met.
Growing up, Dallin was known for his persistent and ambitious spirit, his intelligence and academic drive, and his infectious sense of humor. He loved many sports in his younger years, but grew to love golf the most, and became well skilled in the sport, golfing on his high school team and more recently could be found on his favorite course in Layton, Valley View. Dallin also loved motorcycles and spent many hours riding around the beautiful canyons and valleys of Utah. He loved to travel and was able to visit both England (a country he had a great fascination with from a very young age) and Ireland in recent years, as well as many other fun and interesting destinations. Many family memories were made on trips to: Ashton, ID, Laguna Beach, CA, and Kauai, HI.
Dallin attended grade school in Ogden, Utah and graduated from Ogden High School in 2005. Following high school, he attended the University of Utah and later received a bachelor's degree in Web and User Experience from Weber State University.
Dallin was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had very positive memories of the leaders and good role models he had in his ward while growing up.
Despite his many strengths, Dallin faced significant challenges in his life due to his battle with addiction. He fought valiantly, demonstrating incredible resilience and courage. Those who knew him can attest to his determination to overcome his struggles, and he often sought to help others facing similar battles, advocating for compassion and understanding.
Dallin had an innate ability to connect with people and made friends easily. His laughter and kindness left an indelible mark on everyone around him. He will be remembered for his quirky sense of humor, ability to have compassion and empathy for others, and his grit and ability to work hard. His spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him. His family will never forget his silliness, his personalized gibberish banter, and his incredibly hilarious dance moves.
One of Dallin’s greatest joys in life was his son, Will. Will was Dallin’s inspiration to fight for sobriety and he loved spending time with him whenever he could. They loved to go on walks together and any time Dallin visited Will they would go for a walk, no matter the weather. They also enjoyed the playground and racing remote control cars.
He is survived by his parents, Dave and Linda Steed; his siblings, Breklyn (Troy) Morgan, Spencer (Alex) Steed, Brooke (Shad) Webb, and Conner (Jazlynn) Steed; his son William Harris Steed, his ex-wife Rebecca Irwin; his devoted partner, Mariana Perez, and a network of friends and extended family who will miss him dearly. In honor of Dallin's memory, a celebration of his life will take place on September 28 at the church building on 1401 Country Hills Drive. There will be a viewing at 11am, followed by a funeral service at 12pm. Dallin will be buried at Mountain View Cemetery in Eden following the service (5555 E 2700 N, Eden, Ut). The family invites all who knew and loved Dallin to join them in remembering his vibrant spirit. For those who were unable to attend the service in person, a video of the livestream can be found here: https://youtu.be/wQpvqr6KpQI
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests you donate to Dallin's son William. If you wish to donate to a savings account for Will, Venmo Brooke Webb: @Brooke-Webb-5.
Dallin’s courageous battle for love, hope, and life will continue to inspire us all. May he find peace and rest from the many burdens he carried in this life, and may we cherish all the good memories we shared with him.
