Daniel (Dan) Lowell Babcock, age 52, of Payson, Utah, passed away unexpectedly on August 27, 2025. Though gone too soon, his life was full of love, laughter, and devotion to family.
Early Life & Career
Dan was born on November 20, 1972, in Rockford, Illinois, to Scott and Mary Babcock. He grew up with his sisters, Tamara and Teresa, in a home where family values were at the center of life. Dan graduated from Rockford East High School, where he built lifelong friendships and discovered his gift for working with his hands. He pursued a career as a welder in the construction industry, a trade that suited his steady nature, attention to detail, and strong work ethic. His craftsmanship and dedication earned him the respect of his coworkers and friends.
Family Life
Dan’s proudest accomplishment was not found at work, but at home. He married the love of his life, Twyla, and together they built a family anchored in love, loyalty, and joy. He was a devoted husband and father, cherishing his two children, Miranda and Kevin, who were the pride of his life. He found joy in supporting their dreams and celebrating their milestones, big and small. His greatest happiness came from time spent with them—whether at home, on family adventures, or gathered around a campfire.
Personality & Passions
Dan was known for his kind heart, sense of humor, and quiet strength. He had a way of making people feel at ease and valued, and his laughter could light up a room. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and the outdoors, where he found peace and connection. Family gatherings were especially meaningful to him, as he cherished creating memories with those he loved most. His life reflected a balance of hard work, humility, and joy in simple things.
Legacy & Loved Ones
Dan is survived by his father, Scott (Mary Jo) Babcock; his sisters, Tamara (Chad) Maurer and Teresa (Tim) Keverline; and several beloved nephews and a niece. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Babcock, and his grandparents. His family and friends will carry forward his memory by living with the kindness, humor, and devotion that he exemplified every day.
