Daniel Aaron Janoe's Obituary
Daniel Aaron Janoe was born in New London, CT, to Judith and Charles Janoe. Dan was raised in Walnut Creek, CA. and at the time of his death Dan resided in Holladay, UT. Dan is survived by his children Jessica Janoe of Holladay and Taylor Janoe of Salt Lake City. Also survived by his mother Judith Janoe, sister Laura (Bill) Way and brother Eric Janoe, many nieces and nephews and of course the “guys”. Preceded in death by his father Charles Janoe.
Dan will be remembered as a loving father, caring brother, son and loyal friend. His absence amongst his dearest friends will not be forgotten. As a father Dan relished his time with Jessie and Taylor and travelled with them extensively. His time here was too short, there is still so much they wanted to do together. Dan was the catalyst that kept his friends and family together. He valued the time he spent with his mother, brother, sister and their families, his nieces and nephews will miss their Uncle Dan.
Dan was employed at Mitchell International as a Senior Business Consultant. Dan developed many strong relationships during his tenure with Mitchell. We have received many thoughtful words regarding the respect and admiration that Dan’s coworkers have for him. His work ethic and dry humor will be missed.
Dan was diagnosed with stage IV cancer in 2009. Dan told everyone who was close to him that having cancer was the best thing that had happened to him; because he no longer overlooked an opportunity to share the love. Dan lived fully and completely in the last leg of his journey. He continued to work, but never missed a chance to spend his time off with his kids and closest friends. So many lasting memories have been made during this time. Dan enjoyed tremendous quality and quantity of life with the care of Utah Cancer Specialists. When his body could no longer benefit from chemotherapy treatment, he found compassionate care with CNS Hospice. Dan died peacefully at home in the early morning hours of January 7, 2011 with Jessica and Taylor as his caregivers. The irony of 7-11 was likely the source of the small smile on Dan’s face as he left his ravaged body behind and gathered his spirit to find the next party. We’ll see you on the other side. Thanks for the love and memories.
Non-Denominational services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday January 15, 2011 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints located at 2615 East Stringham Avenue, Salt Lake City, UT.
