Daniel Everett Morgan's Obituary
Daniel Everett Morgan was born on March 3, 1931, to Frank Harley and Mary Melissa Morgan in a small Louisiana farming town of Ebenezer, Louisiana. There he enjoyed loving family relationships with his parents and two older brothers, Harley Arnold Morgan and Leon Elmer Morgan. The memories forged there would carry him throughout his amazing adventure through life that called him far away from the lazy bayous and plentiful rice paddies he knew as a boy.
He served as an airplane mechanic in the Air Force in various stations in America and Puerto Rico where he was introduced to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. From there he relocated to Provo Utah to attend Bringham Young University. There he graduated with a bachelor's degree majoring in Drafting and minoring in Spanish. It was there that he discovered a culture and people that would steal his heart away. He loved all people wherever he went, but his heart belonged to the Polynesian people of Tonga and New Zealand. He had two loves in life and sometimes it was difficult to know which one he loved more: the Polynesian people or football. At eighty-two years old, you could find him out playing football in the park with a team of guys forty years younger than himself.
"Danny Boy" as the Polynesian people called him, had a beautiful tenor voice and sang in the Sacre Dulce Chorus for many years. He was an excellent diver and athlete. He enjoyed many hobbies, one of which was restoring his 1929 Chrysler. He enjoyed driving it in the St. Patrick's Day parade with his wife. He was a member of the Antique Car Club and forged many friendships there. His grand kids loved to sit in the rumble seat with grandpa's careful and watchful eye.
We love you Grandpa and with a song in our hearts that only the Polynesian people can sing we say,
"God Be with You 'til We Meet Again'..... Kia Ora and 'Alu a, to our mighty Māori warrior!
