Missing you so very much, Daren. I have a big heart rock under the cherry tree in our yard you were talking about being buried under. It is about to bloom pick flowers galore again now. I feel your energy from here. Love you forever. "Merba" (the name you gave me, Merry) at the Broiler back in 1983 and still called me on our last trip to Atlanta, Georgia, for your last birthday trip, August 12, 2019. Good times from Mexico to New York and many trips to Cozumel from Seattle just the two of us as co-workers at our third company together (Market Street Broiler, MarkAir, and Continental Airlines). :) Love you, my brother from another mother. :) :)

We loved being with Daren at the Food Pantry the last few years of his life. We laughed a lot together and shared our faith, as did he. Much reminiscing about his life in Washington, and what he was doing after he moved back to Utah. Always helpful, cheerful and willing! Witty and polite.
The past year was a struggle for him physically, but he still showed up to help when he could. The last time was a challenge for him, so after assessing him I asked him if the guys could drive him home since it was clear he was not physically doing well at all This was arranged and Shane and Grant drove both he and his car home so he could seek medical assistance, Little did we know he would end up in the hospital and from there move on to be with Jesus. Go with God Daren and know that we love and miss you! Prayers for all of the family. Marilyn & Hugh

Daren became a wonderful friend and next door neighbor to us when he came to live with his mom several years ago. We had many conversations over coffee about life in general. He shared many stories of his days in Seattle and his "2nd family". I truly believe that he would have loved to move back there if his health had permitted. He also told me about his many travels around the world. He was a great wine connoisseur - knew which wine went along with any kind of food. I will miss the beautiful flowers he planted in pots on his mom's back deck...he was always telling me which days were best to get plants on sale..."the day after Mother's Day, Memorial Day and other holidays". I will miss the many quiches he made for us....he was quite the cook! I will miss calling him to tell him that he forgot to close the garage door when he came home or that he left the sprinklers on.

Still can't believe you're gone, Daren..... We will miss you immensely....see you on the other side!

PS - Greg says to tell you that he believes you are the only person he has ever met that could tell him which wine went with a liverwurst sandwich!

Daren was a wonderful foodie and a great friend A precious light on our team. He will be missed very much. He would always ask me if we were done with him before he went home. I would always tell him i was sooo done with him and he would repeat it to me. I sure loved him. I loved his book on wine grapes that he brought to show me. It is a serious treasure. Fond and precious memories!
