Darrell Erik Larsen's Obituary
After his second battle with cancer, Darrell Erik Larsen passed away on September 17, 2023 in Woods Cross Utah at the age of 45. He leaves behind his three daughters; Samantha, HarlieAnne (Kai), and Maranda. His grandchildren; Bentley, Eloise, Collin and Landon. His parents; Darrell and Ellen Larsen. And his siblings; Andrea (Dale), Denise (Dave), Stephanie (Shane), Jammi (Destin), and Tyler (Kim).
Erik was born on December 9, 1977 in Bountiful, Utah, to Darrell and Ellen Larsen. He grew up in a large family where he was the youngest of six kids. When he was a boy, he loved adventure. As he grew older he loved anything to do with the outdoors, especially camping and hunting. He had many talents and whatever he started, always turned out amazing. He was great at fixing cars, an amazing artist, and was especially phenomenal as a cook. He was able to get his associates degree in Culinary Arts. He had the most contagious laugh and smile, and could light up a room whenever he walked in.
It was no secret that Erik struggled with addiction for most of his life, but that didn’t hinder who he was as a person. Erik loved deeply, was never quick to judge, and stood up for the ones he loved, no matter what. Despite being in active addiction for the majority of his life, he spent that last two years of his life thriving, happy, and sober. He enjoyed cooking for his family, and took great satisfaction on how much they loved his food. He enjoyed playing with his grandkids outside, and sneaking them treats. He got two jobs doing what he loved the most, being a chef! And most importantly, he worked his ass off fixing the relationships with the people he loved the most. He had overcome his demons and his addiction, becoming the man, father, grandfather, and son that he had always strived to be. This tragedy has left us broken, and made our lives a much darker place, but we are at peace knowing that he no longer suffers.
