Darrin Todd Hardman's Obituary
Darrin Todd Hardman, 59, of Roy, Utah, passed away on July 28, 2025, at Ogden Regional Medical Center in Ogden, Utah. He was surrounded by his loved ones and caregivers and died peacefully with dignity.
Darrin was born on October 15, 1965, in Roy, Utah, to Barry and Claudia Hardman. He graduated from Clearfield High School in 1983 and attended Weber State College (now Weber State University), earning a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. He later relocated to Southern Nevada and attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where he earned a Master’s Degree in Education Instructional and Curricular Studies. He worked as a teacher for several years before earning a Master of Arts in Education Administration and Supervision in 2001. Darrin then worked as an Education Specialist for the State of Nevada Department of Education. Darrin loved his career and enjoyed teaching both children and adults.
In late 2003, Darrin met the love of his life, Armando Flores Jr. They married on July 11, 2011, in Las Vegas, Nevada, where they lived happily for many years. In 2020, Darrin retired and relocated back to his hometown of Roy with his husband, A.J..
Darrin was known for his intellect, his drive to inspire and teach others, but also for his witty sense of humor and sarcasm. He was deeply passionate about literacy, children’s education, and loved theater, music, and cats. His hobbies included crocheting, weaving, and creating beautiful fiber art. He lived with a positive mindset that was contagious to others and never let obstacles stand in his way. He will be missed and remembered by all those who knew and loved him. His legacy is whom he inspired.
Darrin is survived by his husband of 14 years, A.J. Flores. He is also survived by his father and mother, Barry and Claudia Hardman; his brother, Mitchell Hardman (Lori); sister, Angella Brooke Hardman; and nieces; Ashley Hardman and Hailey Payne. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Fredrick Townsend Stone, Beverly Jean Larsen, Emelie Ingeborg Bierke Hardman, and George Orson Hardman (Reba Gene).
Per Darrin’s request, no formal funeral services will take place. Instead, “Thank you for celebrating me on my birthdays, inviting me to holiday gatherings, office parties, and everything in-between. I loved your smiles, your laughter, and always enjoyed your company. Now go read a good book, or watch a movie, or make a wish upon a star if you see one, and live your best life for me.”
