David Glenn Anderson

On June 20, 2025, as the Summer Solstice arrived, David Glenn Anderson took his last breath and peacefully passed away in his home with his wife, Annette, and family by his side. He was 73. He was born on August 11, 1951 and raised in Long Beach, CA. David graduated from Millikan High School in 1969 and then went on to study at the Univeristy of California at Santa Barbara, graduating in 1973 with a BA in Psychology. During his years at UCSB David rowed for the crew team. In 1974, he chose to move to Park City for a winter of skiing before continuing on with his studies in graduate school; he never left. His love for the mountains and seasons, animals and nature brought him to Park City when the town was still rustic and uncrowded; the perfect place to enjoy the outdoors year round, David worked many different jobs while he was in the Park City area. He flipped burgers at the Corner Store, was employed at the PC golf course in the summers, and then became involved with grooming and snow management. He worked at the Park City Ski Resort and then became involved with the Deer Valley Resort in 1981. He retired from there in 2015 after 34 years of employment with them. His love for travel led he and his wife, Annette (married 48 years) to the Caribbean, Mexico, Belize, Costa Rica, Fiji, Tonga and many seaside and mountainous US destinations. He enjoyed scuba diving wherever water greeted him; kayaking with the Orcas in Vancouver's Inside Passage, and snorkeling with the humpback whales in Tonga. David was a kind, gentle soul but had a hearty laugh and a giving heart. He was quiet but shared his life with family and friends that he loved. His three fuzzy boys - Buzzy, Goldie, and Junior will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Janice Anderson. Left to cherish his memorable days are his wife, Annette; brothers Mark (Vanessa) Anderson of Los Osos, CA; Kirk (Susie) Anderson of Cornwall, VT and his sister Lynn Dee (Jim) Dayton of Genesee, CO. He loved his two nieces Kelsey Dayton-Noyes (Wes) of Morrison, CO and Natalie Dayton Hannum (Andy) of Denver, CO and his great nephews and nieces. He will also be missed by his three sisters-in law Nancy Fuller (Roger), Janice Bolt and Sue Hillman Abel (Darrell) and their families. David's illness was sudden and aggressive. The Glioblastoma tumor gave him no time to treasure the last days of his life. Cancer is a very hideous disease! He is now at peace. Our family is forever grateful to Intermountain Homecare and Hospice. A special thank you to Dr Jeffrey McNalley and staff members Hilary, Steve, Shelley, Thomas, Stuart, and Jason. Also, Dr Daniel Sims and staff (Jessica and Christy), and Utah Valley Palliative Care (Brian and Annette). The funeral arrangements were private; family only.
