First and foremost to Debbie, Miguel, Jesse and Emilia. I am so sorry for your loss and I am so deeply saddened after reading on FB about my lifelong friend and brother from another mother Dave. I have so many fond memories of Dave when we were stationed in Spain together. The most memorable was the first time we met, we were both on 30-day temporary duty in Adana Turkey and a mutual friend introduced us and he introduced himself as David Flores (but in his Spanish accent), and I introduced myself as Jesse Flores (without the Spanish accent) and with that, I asked him, dude, do you prefer I call you David in Spanish or just Dave. He was so relieved that he could have a normal conversation in English with another Hispanic who's Spanish was just as bad if not worse than his. I guess from that day on (maybe 2 years) we were pretty much inseparable until he left back to the states for discharge. Dave was supposed to be my best man at our wedding, but he got tapped to go to Turkey during that time, wouldn't you know it, he came back the day before my wedding, but arrangements had already been made for a backup best man, so Dave was/is unofficially my Best Man.
To Gilbert, Cecilia and Marcus, my condolences, my friend Dave was one hell of a guy. I will miss him very much.
