David E Hoopes' Obituary
David E. Hoopes 1935 ~ 2016 David E. Hoopes; loving family man, owner/broker of Vista Properties, superb athlete, motorcyclist and pilot passed on to a new adventure Wednesday, January 20, 2016. He was born June 14, 1935, in Salt Lake City, UT and shortly thereafter moved to the Panama Canal Zone with his family. Dave graduated from Balboa High School, Panama, with the class of '54 and attended the University of Utah were he attended ROTC until he joined the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves. He qualified expert marksman and was honorably discharged in 1964. Dave is survived by his wife Judy M., his sister Judith Anne, and six children: Steve Hoopes (Debbie), Deborah Provenzano (Jeff), Bill Hoopes, Susanne Defriez (Herb), Doug McPhie (Marisa Moon), Kim Jensen (Eric); five grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Dave was preceded in death by his first wife Harriet Hoopes; brother Edward Hoopes; great-grandson Ethan Hyde. Thanks to friends and family and the beautiful people at Millcreek Home Health and Hospice and Beehive House of Herriman for an outpouring of love. Memorial service 4:00 p.m., Heritage Gardens 2050 E. Creek Road followed by celebration of life. Dave will be sorely missed.
