David Aldous Lindley's Obituary
David Aldous Lindley
To most of you, he was Dave at Clearfield Auto Parts. To us, he was a husband, father, brother, grandpa, friend, teacher, and personal mechanic. Dave passed away peacefully at home on October 2, 2022 surrounded by family and friends. He was born in Ogden, Utah on May 4, 1947 to Max Lindley and Lila Gooch. He graduated from Weber High School in 1965. From 1966-2005, he was an employee and eventually part owner of Clearfield Auto Parts, where he was able to meet lifelong friends. He continued working in the auto parts industry until 2020 when the pain from cancer finally forced him to retire. He spent many tiresome nights and weekends working on cars, trucks, tractors and farm equipment to support his wife and kids. Dave loved the outdoors and spread that love to his wife and kids. There were many weekends spent camping, hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles and four wheelers with family and friends. His biggest accomplishments were his family, selflessly helping everyone he came in contact with, and giving life to anything with an engine.
He is preceded in death by his parents Max and Lila Lindley and in-laws Michael Dunn and Phyllis McCubbin, and sister Marilyn Bezzant. Dave is survived by his wife, Diane Lindley; his children: Lisa Faulkner, Chris (Katie) Lindley, Matt Lindley; his grandchildren: Savanah (Trevor) Williamson, Sarah (Matt) Hare, Parker (Morgan) Lindley, Jordyn Lindley, Connor Lindley, Ridge Lindley and Boston Lindley; his great granddaughters: Olivia, Amelia, and Kali; his sister: Maxine Mayer and sister-in-law Carolyn (Harry) Nicholas.
There will be a celebration of life for Dave this Sunday the 9th of October at the Hope Center in Roy, Utah from 2 – 5 p.m. We would love to have all family and friends that would like to come share laughs and memories they have of Dave, come and celebrate his life with us. He didn’t want a funeral, he wanted to laugh and have a good time with his family and friends, he said “have a beer for me”.
Roy Hope Center is located at 5051 S 1900 W, Roy, UT 84067
