David Richard Nichols
1958 - 2021
David was born March 22, 1958, the third of four children, to Richard Arthur Nichols and Alice Jeanne Laver in Salt Lake City, Utah. Sadly, our beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away August 9, 2021.
David loved nothing more than playing in the stream in Millcreek as a kid. As he became a teenager, his love and time turned to baseball and skiing. When he entered the dating arena he loved tennis because his love, Debbie, loved tennis. His favorite thing was a Sunday dinner where he was surrounded by his four children, Emily Wright (Kyle), Patrick Nichols (Issy), Alyssa Whetton (Adam), and Sarah Finlinson (Jake) and seven grandchildren, Samantha, Lucy, Benjamin, Everly, June, Ezekial, and August.
Dave was a genuinely nice guy who liked people and helping others. It didn’t matter if the person was a family member, in his neighborhood, ward, community or even his place of work. If you had a problem, he cared.
He will be sorely missed by all who knew him, especially, his wife of 40 years, Debbie Lofgren Nichols. We want to honor his life. There will be a viewing and funeral on Tuesday, August 17th at the South Jordan Utah Stake Center, located at 2450 West 10400 South. The viewing will be from 9:30-11:15 a.m. and the funeral will begin at 11:30 a.m. All are welcome to come. Burial will be at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park in Millcreek, Utah following the funeral.
