David Earl Rushton's Obituary
David was born December 17, 1935 in Hunter, Utah to Earl Rushton and Violet Mace Rushton.
He was born in a simpler time and truly enjoyed the simple things in life. He lived in the same lot of property until his LDS mission to Southern California/Arizona. In 1957 David bought a brand new Chevy which he was able to drive while on his mission.
After his mission David attended the University of Utah and Utah Tech where he learned to weld.
David met his best friend, CarlieAnn Breinholt through friends who set them up on their first date. They were married April 24, 1961 in the Salt Lake temple for time and all eternity.
David and CarlieAnn had a great life together raising their 3 sons and 2 daughters in the lot of property right next door to where he was born and raised. David and CarlieAnn loved to take family camping trips, travel to Yellowstone, Lake Powell, Alaska and any Utah mountains. David loved to garden and tinker in the yard.
David was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting and especially ducks. He really loved a good fishing trip. Many family memories were made on those camping and hunting trips.
David worked at Kennecott Copper for 28 years and made great friends there.
David had a strong and unwavering testimony of his Savior Jesus Christ and loved serving in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints as elders quorum president, 70’s and High Priest group leader.
After CarlieAnn’s death in 2006 he met Jean N Miller and were married November 16, 2007. They truly enjoyed working in the temple together and going to dinner with family and friends. Jean took great care of David for over 17 years.
David is survived by his wife Jean; sons Bryon (Nancy), Dean (Lisa), Kim (Kristen), his daughters Crystal Love and Suzann Rushton; 15 beautiful grandchildren, 7 lovely great grandchildren and one adorable great granddaughter.
Proceeded in death by his father and mother, his wife CarlieAnn, his adoring 2 sisters Joyce and Wanda (who loved him with all their hearts) and granddaughter Shelby Ann Rushton.
