David Garth Shupe's Obituary
David Garth Shupe died at the age of 65 on October 27th in Davis Memorial and Medical center in Layton Ut after having battling Covid for 3 weeks leading to a massive stroke on the previous Friday night. He was surrounded by family and his loving wife Betty as he passed.
David was born in Ogden, Ut to Garth and Carmelia Shupe on November 22, 1955. The second youngest among his 3 siblings (Debbie Ogden, Kim Froling, Robert Shupe) he tormented his loved ones with his mischievous ways and playful sense of humor. He carried this fun and loving personality throughout his life.
David finally met the one and only love of his life, Betty Ann Mining at the age of 11. She was the adorable little girl next door, who he asked to marry later that same year and she said “No”. Though they were each other’s first loves, they were each other’s one and only loves throughout their lives. They were married civilly January 30th 1974 in Paris, ID and sealed to each other for time and all eternity in the St. George, Ut, LDS temple on March 26, 1977.
David is survived by his wife Betty Ann Shupe and his 9 children… Jason, Rodney, Todd, Brian, Shawn, Ryan, Brandon, Justin, Mindy, their spouses, and his 25 grandchildren. However, his generous and kind spirit has touched many, many others that cannot be numbered.
David’s family will be holding a Celebration of Life for all friends and family to attend on November 5th from 12-3 in The Church of Jesus Christ. The address is 2024 South 1475 West, Syracuse, UT.
