David Michael Wheeler "Spyder"'s Obituary
David’s hobby and passion was also his profession; he was a Sous Chef and a master cook. If he wasn’t cooking for someone he was watching cooking shows on TV. David was a Vietnam War era veteran, proud of his service in the US Army. David quietly and generously served and gave of himself endlessly even when he had nothing for himself. David had a heart of gold and a million dollar smile; he made friends where ever he went. He will be greatly missed! He is survived by his son Karl and his four brothers: Gene, Andy, Kyd and Jerry, and his sister Debbie, as well as many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his longtime sweetheart, companion and caregiver Sawn Swenson whom he showered with unconditional love. David passed away peacefully in his sleep due to complications from kidney and liver failure. David had a positive attitude that was contagious. He was incredibly stubborn to surrender a precious moment to his illness. Nevertheless he found great comfort knowing Jesus was waiting for his return, and longing to see his parents once again that he adored. A memorial service, viewing and Military Honor presentation to honor David will be held Thursday May 1, 2014 at 1:00pm at the Chapel at the Utah Veterans Memorial Cemetery and Park. Located at 17111 South Camp Williams Road (1700 West) Bluffdale, UT 84065. A special thank you to the superior care and compassion given to David by the many medical staff at the George E. Wahlen Veterans Hospital and Medical Center. Especially to the many friends that David made and served him in the Dialysis Unit.
