Dean P McAllister's Obituary
Dean P. McAllister, aged 86, passed away peacefully in his home on August 3, 2023.
Dean was born December 22, 1936, in Kanab, UT to Boyd Young McAllister and LaVerde Pugh McAllister. He met his future wife, Donna Gay Davolt at CSU in Cedar City Utah, and were married December 28, 1956. Marriage later solemnized in the St. George Temple. At the time of his passing, they had been married 66 years.
Dean Was employed with the Union Pacific Railroad. He Began his career as a clerk and at the time of his retirement was the Asst. Terminal Superintendent in Ogden UT. He was an avid Golfer and passed this “hobby” (addiction) on to at least two of his boys, who accompanied him on this endeavor whenever they could. He served in the Bountiful UT Temple for the last 20 plus years of his life. He enjoyed the time he spent there and the friends he served with.
Dean is survived by his spouse, siblings: Larry, Sam (Anna), Ida Lue Reese (Laurence), Byron (Janice), and Mary Spencer (Leland). Sons: Richard, James (Melissa), Kevin, and Brian (Sandy). Many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents, and his sister Charnelle.
Funeral Services held Tuesday August 15, 2023, at 11:00 am at the LDS chapel located at 900 South Main St. Kaysville UT 84037. There will also be a viewing on Monday August 14, 2023, from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the same location.
