Dear Auntie Janet
Memories of Uncle Dee started when we visited America for the first time when I was 11 years old, (38 years ago) and he did his retelling of the Night before Christmas. I can still hear his voice today as I listened totally captivated.
We've stayed with you a few times as a family and then again with just myself and Ashlee. Travelling across to Nauvoo with both of you was so wonderful, the memories will always be of adventure, joy and laughter. I'm so pleased that we were able to host you two in New Zealand. One of the special times I will always remember is when Uncle Dee helped with some signs we had to make when I was Young Women's president and we were selling sweets.
Always sharing his talents, whether they were telling a tale, painting or volunteering to help in whatever way he could are the best legacy a father, husband or uncle can leave in our hearts.
I hope you can feel our love from NZ to comfort you at this time.
We love you
Jerelyn, Shule and Ashlee xxx
