Another member of the greatest generation has passed. Dee Lon Savage passed away peacefully on July 31, 2023, from a sudden illness, with his family at his side. He was 98 years old. His family is his greatest joy. Dad was born Read Obituary
Dee and his beautiful wife, Lola, were Senior Missionaries who served in the Burlington Colorado Branch. Anyone who knew Dee and Lola Savage from Roy, Utah, felt the Spirit of the Lord. The Burlington Branch and Kansas West District (now Garden City Stake) were greatly blessed with the love of the Savior through their dedicated service. They were avid gardeners and taught us so much about gardening. They lifted our Spirits in our homes when they would come to dinner appointments and planted many gospel seeds while serving in our area. Dee wrote gospel songs in his retirement. He would send the music he wrote to get our opinions. They were greatly missed when they returned to their home in Utah. Our deepest condolences to their family from all of our families. I am so sorry for your loss this last week, brother. Your father sounds like such a wonderful man. What a life of service to country, community, church and his fellow mankind. I am sure he is so proud of you and the life you live. I am so honored to know you and follow the example you also provide with your service to so many. May our Heavenly Father bless and comfort you and your family. It is so wonderful to know that you will see and be with him again someday. I love you, brother!

My husband and I had the honor of meeting this wonderful man on several occasions. His daughter Wendy married our nephew James aurich. He sure raised a beautiful family.
