Dear Rosann and Family,

The fact that we are among the “vulnerable” for COVID 19 will prevent us from attending either the viewing or funeral for your wonderful husband and father. We sincerely regret not being able to see all of you and to tell you personally how much we admired Dennis and enjoyed the association of our families over many years. Dennis was an amazingly talented and energetic man who touched many lives, including ours. His devotion to family, country and God was exemplary. Our children still talk about his “corny” sense of humor that made scouting so fun for so many. He was always willing to go the extra mile, including an excruciating hike to Kings Peak that left us limping for days!

We extend our love and condolences to all of you and pray that you will feel the comfort of God’s Spirit and the assurance of eternal life at this tender time.

As a kid, I struggled to catch my horses in the field. I was super envious of watching his horses come RUNNING across the pasture to his whistle call. Dennis taught me how to train them to come with a whistle... I cannot whistle, but I did teach them a specific Yodel-like call based on his teaching. Such a wonderful memory, one of many.

I am grateful that I was able to be protected under his caring wing many times, through many disappointments and learning experiences. My deepest condolences to you all. Much love.

Thanks Dad for all the lessons and good memories. I will miss your sense of humor and all the bad dad jokes you would tell us. I am now telling my kids those same jokes and they like to roll their eyes at me, probably in the same way we did when you told us. :)
Thank you for your sense of adventure and love of the outdoors.
