Dennis Alan Decker
March 22nd, 1968 - January 17th, 2023
Dennis Alan Decker was born on March 22, 1968, to Arnaud A.J. and Deanna Lynn Decker, in San Diego, California. Dennis grew up in Orange, California. He graduated from Orange High School, which was also the very school his parents attended. Dennis met his best friend Steve Dietlin in Orange along with so many other dear lifelong friends, to many to name. Many people don’t know this about Dennis, but he had a wild streak in his youth, he was a “Punk Rocker”. He had eggplant colored hair, a nose ring, and wore red Doc Martin boots. He enjoyed going to Punk Rock concerts, comedy clubs and in general partying with his good friends, enjoying good food and great beer. If you don’t believe this, we have pictures!
Dennis met his wife, Brenda through mutual friends while he was living in Washington and she in Utah. It wasn't long before he packed up and moved to Salt Lake City so they could be together. They enjoyed traveling to various places in the world and states, spending time together. Dennis and Brenda (Boo as he referred to her) got married in June 2002. They welcomed their boys in June of 2004, Kian & 2007, Caden.
Dennis had a big heart, a great laugh, loved everyone making friends easily. He loved spending time with everyone but especially enjoyed being with his sons, attending as many games as he could when they played sports and watching football games with them on TV. Dennis was so proud of them.
Dennis was good at many things, and if he did not know how to do something he could figure it out, often doing a better job than the professionals. He was very caring, generous, and always happy to help friends and family.
Dennis was a hard worker and had a few different careers over his lifetime. He was well tho ught of and successful. His last career he was a Deputy with Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office and later an Officer with the Unified Police Department. Dennis was very proud to be able to serve his community finding a passion that defined the kind of person he was. Sadly, Dennis lost his battle with an inoperable brain tumor on Jan 17th, 2023.
He was preceded in death by his father Arnaud A.J. Decker, maternal Grandfather Guy Casteel Jr., paternal Grandfather Ed Decker, and paternal Grandmother Rose Decker.
