Dennis H Fay Sr's Obituary
Dennis H Fay Sr., loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on January 29, 2024, peacefully in his sleep. Dennis was born in Denver, Colorado, on October 13, 1934, to Ellis and Eva Fay. He was raised in Long Beach, California, and attended Compton High School. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps "because I wanted to save the world like John Wayne" and courageously fought in the Korean War. When he returned to the States, he kept an active lifestyle.
In the Summer of 1955, he met and fell in love with Patsy Faye Bryce, and they eloped to Kingman, Arizona, on January 21, 1956. They were later sealed in the Los Angeles Temple. They spent 56 years together here on earth as loving companions and concerned parents. They spent most of their married life in Southern California. They also lived in Oregon and finally in Provo/Orem until after Patsy's death. Dennis moved to the Veterans home in Payson, Utah. Dennis was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many church callings throughout his life.
Dennis and Patsy were blessed with 41 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren and counting. He is preceded in death by his wife (Patsy), father (Ellis), mother (Eva), and sister (Donna). He is survived by his children, Denise (Jack) Rogers - Olympia, WA, Michael Reed (Susan) - Mundelein IL, Mark Martindale (Cindy) - El Cajon, CA, Michael (Marsonna) - Herriman, UT, David - FL, Dennis II (Susan) - Spanish Fork, UT, Steven (Suzanne) - Dublin, Ireland, Darrin (Michelle) - Las Vegas, NV, Jeffery - Springville, UT, Kristy (Chris) Roman - Springville, UT, Kenny - Duchesne, UT, and many other descendants.
Dennis loved having his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren visit him at the Mervyn S Bennion Veterans home in Payson, Utah. Thank you to those who took great care of our father, especially to our dad's favorite nurse, Dutch, who always made sure he had the best care possible, and to everyone else who worked on the 400 hall- THANK YOU.
Services will be on Tuesday, February 6th begin with a viewing at 10:00 am followed with a family prayer, Services to follow 11:00 am, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Ward Chapel 14398 S. 6400 W. Herriman, UT. 84096. Graveside service held at 12:00 pm at the Utah Veterans Cemetery & Memorial Park 17111 South Camp Williams Road, Bluffdale, UT. 84065.
