Dennis Ingles funeral remarks
Dennis has fixed a lot of plumbing problems, but today he is causing a lot of leaks. ;(
Let me tell you a little bit about brother Ingles.
Dennis was he perfect employee for me. I would text him on days I needed him and he would work, unless it was Wednesday see the doctor (he didn't tell me what was going on, but I knew he had health problems)
Stories:
A couple of weeks ago I saw him at church in the hall way, and owed him for some work he did for me.
I Handed him a check and said jokingly "It pays to come to church." :)
His shoes:
One day as he was working with me. I asked him about his shoes. He wore dress shoes. I said Dennis don't you like tennis Shoes? No, This are easier to slip on and off. I think of him as I put on and take off my church shoes.
The hugging story.
Hugging Erma High
Dennis was sitting next to Erma High when I asked her for a hug and I finished hugging Sister High, Dennis asked jokingly "where is my hug" and put his hands up to block me, but I moved forward and gave him a Hug anyway. :)
We ate lunches together and We talked about his kids and grandkids and how proud he was of them all and the presents he was working on for Christmas.
I called Dennis In the bishop's office many months back and talked to him about the importance of having a current temple recommend. He had some minor items he had to work out. We talk a few times after that and the last time I told him to let me know when your ready to receive one. Friends and family he has a testimony of temples and family history work. He knew how important being able to do work for his family was and helped others in our ward with their family temple work and the blessings that come from this work.
He now is reunited with family and friends in heaven, I believe he is called to watch over and help his family still here on earth.
The wonderful plan of happiness, the plan of salvation is a blessing in all our lives.
It is up to us to follow our Heavenly Father's plan for us.
Story of his temple recommend:
I was Sharing with the priesthood brethren of our ward, how close Brother Ingles was to receiving his temple recommend, after I was done, a dear former bishop came to me and shared a beautiful experience he had as a Bishop.
A sister in his ward that he had been helping was scheduled for a temple recommend in the coming weeks, just a week before her interview date...she passed away. The bishop asked the Stake president, if they could fill out and sign her recommend they both agreed, in her coffin this dear Sister was holding her temple recommend.
After talking to our Stake President we came to the same decision.
Brothers and Sisters... brother Dennis Earl Ingles is a current temple recommend holder.
I found this on my email this morning and found it very fitting
SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY
Matthew 16:19
"And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven."
QUOTE OF THE DAY
Gordon B. Hinckley
"Each temple built by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints stands as an expression of the testimony of this people that God our Eternal Father lives, that He has a plan for the blessing of His sons and daughters of all generations, that His Beloved Son, Jesus the Christ, who was born in Bethlehem of Judea and crucified on the cross of Golgotha, is the Savior and Redeemer of the world, whose atoning sacrifice makes possible the fulfillment of that plan in the eternal life of each who accepts and lives the gospel. Every temple, be it large or small, old or new, is an expression of our testimony that life beyond the grave is as real and certain as is mortality" ("This Peaceful House of God," Ensign, May 1993).
I came across this quote from
