Dennis Howard Larsen's Obituary
Born Nov. 5, 1939 in Provo, Utah. He passed away Jan. 31, 2017 in West Jordan, Utah, after a long battle with cancer and dementia. He grew up in Provo, graduating from Provo High School in 1958 and BYU in 1964. He served an LDS mission in the Northwestern States Mission. During his mission he was involved in developing a new missionary teaching program for the LDS Church that was adapted church wide and resulted in thousands of people joining the Church. He continued missionary work throughout his entire life.
Dennis was a successful salesman. His started selling home grown corn on the cob from his family’s garden for 39 cents a dozen and Christmas cards, door to door, at the tender age of five. This developed into a life-long career selling many different things, including women’s shoes, computer software for John Deere farm equipment retailers, major appliances, real estate, and insurance. He also worked at a publishing company, Price Books and Forms in Azusa, California along with his brother Keith and brother-in-law Reid Williamson.
Dennis had many endearing attributes. He was an easy conversationalist, had a good sense of humor, and had a great love for genealogy and family story telling. Dennis found great enjoyment in the written word, athletics (both as a participant in his younger years and as an observer throughout his life), and a home cooked meal. Most precious to him was his testimony of Jesus Christ and his love for the gospel.
He is survived by daughters Lisa (Ralph) Beaty, Andrea (Ric) Frazier, son Brent Larsen, and wife Linda Lewis Larsen (divorced), wife Nancy Allen (divorced) and eight grandchildren. Also survived by brothers Keith (Jeanne) Larsen and Randy (Barbara) Larsen and brothers-in-law, Reid Williamson and Guy Humphries and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by parents, Grant F. and Leda Curtis Larsen, brother Roger Larsen, sisters Norma Williamson and Barbara Humphries.
Interment was held at Provo City Cemetery.
