Dennis J Mohr's Obituary
Dennis J Mohr of Layton Utah
Our Courageous Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Brother Dennis J Mohr passed away peacefully and returned to his Heavenly Father on 11/24/2025 in Logan Utah. He was born August 5, 1933 to Carl Joseph Mohr and Fern Frazier in Elwood, Utah where he was raised with his family. He was drafted into the Army during the Korean war and spent his service time in Germany. Denny was a heavy equipment operator and spent most of his career building many of the roads we now drive on throughout Utah. He lived away from home often when building trappers loop, and projects like the current creek dam and many years in the tunnel there. Denny met his eternal companion while she was still in High School. They were married in Elko, NV 2 weeks after Joan graduated from High School in 1960. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. They raised their family in Bountiful and then later moved to Layton. Denny was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. After their children were raised Denny and Joan served a mission in Hillsboro, Texas. He loved the people they met and served there. He served at the Bishops’ Storehouse with Joan and he also loved being an ordinance worker in the Bountiful and Ogden temples.
He is survived by his sons Brian Jay Mohr and Kyle Devin Mohr, his daughter Jana and husband Matt Anderson. He also leaves behind six Anderson grandchildren: Hannah and her husband Wyatt Wollenzien, Zachary, Allyson, Alyse, Cambria and Rylee as well as Brian’s daughter Randi Harshman and her daughter Jadyn who is the only Great-Grandchild. He is also survived by his Sister Carol Zundel. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Myrna, Arlene and Nancy.
The family would like to thank his caregivers at The Gable Memory Care Center in Logan for the wonderful care they provided. In lieu of flowers please donate to a charity of your choice, some of Denny’s recommendations would be the Church education or missionary funds.
