Denny Peterson's Obituary
Denny Peterson
May 27, 1942-January 23, 2025
Gone Fishin
Denny passed away on January 23, 2025, at his son’s home in Layton Utah. Born, Denio Grant Peterson on May 27, 1942, in Los Angeles, California to Sylvia Hennefer and Grant Peterson. In his early years he enjoyed exploring the canyons surrounding the family home in the avenues of Salt Lake City, which is where his passion of the outdoors was sparked.
He had a knack for quickly making friends, especially if it involved fishing, hunting or enjoying a drink together.
He served our country in the army and had many stories to share.
He married Wynne Page and together they had one child and were later divorced. Hazel Lunceford caught his eye, and they married shortly after.
Most of his career was as a cabinet salesman and he enjoyed helping others and getting to know them.
His love of the outdoors has been passed on to so many. We are confident he has successfully negotiated fishing in heaven.
He was blessed with many great friends which were true living angels and became a source of strength throughout his life. We thank all those friends who have blessed his life through the years.
Survived by his son Darren (Areta), grandchildren Paige (Dallen) Dusenberry, Claire (Parker) Greenman and Mitchell Peterson, great-grandson Colter Dusenberry, brother Art (Kathie, deceased) and sister Sue (Jeff) Riddell.
Preceded in death by his wife Hazel and both of his parents.
A viewing will be held on Friday January 31, 2025, from 11:00-12pm at Premier Funeral Home, 1160 North 1200 West, Orem, Utah. A graveside service will follow at 1:00pm Evergreen Cemetery 1997 South 400 East, Springville Utah.
