Derrick Richard Wilson's Obituary
Derrick Richard Wilson, age 51 of West Jordan, Utah, passed away on February 23, 2025, at Intermountain Murray Hospital. He bravely fought a long battle with liver disease and sadly succumbed to complications during his liver transplant surgery.
Derrick was born on December 28, 1973, to Richard L. Wilson and Janet Hogge Wilson in Ogden, Utah. He was the eldest of five children.
Derrick worked in the retail business for 13 years where he met the love of his life Megan. Derrick and Megan were married June 12, 2014. They had two fur cat babies, Cleo and Ash. Derrick was known for his sense of humor and wise remarks. Some of Derrick’s hobbies were working on his railroad train models, camping and fishing. He also enjoyed playing games with his brothers and mom, watching movies, and hanging out with his wife and two cats.
Derrick is survived by his wife of ten years, Megan Wilson, his mother Janet Wilson, his father and stepmother Richard and Sandra Wilson, and siblings Matt Wilson, Jeff Wilson, Brad Wilson and Camie (Jack) Openshaw. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.
Derrick was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents. A celebration of Derricks life will be held in June.
