Devin Lamar Willis' Obituary
Devin Lamar Willis, age 46, passed away peacefully at home on July 18, 2011 surrounded by his family. He was born October 9, 1964 in Santa Monica, Ca to Donald Doyle Willis and Karen Louise Bluth. He was the oldest of seven children.
He married his sweetheart Julie Peterson on April 23, 1987 in the Salt Lake temple for time and all eternity. They have six children. He grew up in South Pasadena and San Jose, CA. At eight years of age his father began to teach him boxing and soon Devin’s love for the martial arts became his favorite pastime. He became a black belt in for different styles and taught classes in self defense. He held many church positions and had a love of the gospel and spent much time reading about it.
He is survived by his wife Julie, his children Joshua, Travis, Porter, Aaron, and Kristi Anna, his mother Karen, and his siblings Phelecia (Brent) Hatch, Triton (Lisa) Willis, Cambria (Cary) Inouye, Damon (Diane) Willis, Ethan (Ashley) Willis, and Chloe (Sean) Patterson. He was preceded in death by his father Donald and son Dustin Willis.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 23 at 10 am at the Sharon 2rd ward building at 641 S. 400 E. in Orem, UT. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services. A viewing will also be held Friday evening from 6-8 pm at the same location.
The family is overwhelmed at the goodness shown by so many people and would like to thank them for what they have done. They would also like to thank the wonderful care from the hospice nurses and Dr Gary Garner during this difficult time.
