Diana Margaret Martin Cranney, 76, our beloved mother and friend, passed away peacefully in her home on November 14, 2013, from natural causes. Diana was born September 2, 1937 into an extended Swedish immigrant family in St. Paul Read Obituary
I just barely learned of Diana's passing. Before being hired as a full time teacher in 1996, I substituted in her kindergarten class. I left her a note asking if she went home everyday exhausted. Then I got to know her as a friend and colleague. She was an amazing woman and teacher. I have missed her since her retirement, but I have loved reading about all she accomplished since her retirement. She lived every moment in such a positive way. What a wonderful example.
I first met Mrs. Cranny during the year of the microburst and my daughter was in kindergarten. It was my first time off the Navajo reservation. I was of course very scared not knowing anyone, when I enrolled my kindergartener, never knowing what to expect. I met Mrs. Cranny and she was so very nice; so much so that some of my apprehension went away and I knew that my daughter was going to be alright. I am saddened by her loss, but I will remember her as I always have since. My daughter is now 24 yrs. old. Good bye, Mrs Cranny, thank you for being there for us and the words of hope.
Mrs. Cranney was our childrens Kindergarten teacher at Joaquin. She understood and loved children. I always felt good to have them in her Charge. They loved Mrs. Cranney. She is an amazing Lady
