Diana Lee Kleyensteuber

She was born in Long Beach, California, to Donald Lee Kleyensteuber & Marcelle Pineau. She later moved to Utah and stayed there for the rest of her life. She had one sister, Carol (Kleyensteuber) Porterfield, and one half-sister, Sarah (Kleyensteuber) Baird. She had an adopted daughter, Anandi (Kleyensteuber) Wilkinson. She is survived by her two sisters, her stepmother (Carol Kleyensteuber), her daughter, and her two granddaughters (Aubrey and Lily). She served an LDS mission to London, England. She was the first blind missionary to go outside of the United States. She graduated from Southern Utah University and Brigham Young University with Bachelors’ degrees. She was a Special Education Elementary Education teacher for the blind and the deaf. She worked for the Utah State Developmental Center for several years. She received several awards for her teaching work. She loved doing crafts and quilting. She enjoyed volunteering in local elementary schools and doing humanitarian work. She instilled a love of learning in her children and those around her. The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart. -Helen Keller
