Don Allen Voelker's Obituary
Don Allen Voelker passed away December 5 2021 at George Wahlen VA after struggling with dementia for several years. He was born in Manitowoc Rapids Wisconsin November, 23 1939 and graduated from Lincoln High School in Manitowoc. He enlisted in the army and from1961-64 he worked on the Nike missile project as a computer technician. After leaving the Army he attended the Milwaukee Institute of technology 1964-66 and then began his career as a computer technician with Honeywell in New York City 1966, and although the company changed names many times, he continued to work in the position until his retirement.
He will always be remembered as a family man who loved his family and treasured his time spent with both close and distant family members. Don loved cooking and was always willing to barbecue for a crowd of neighbors, friends, and family.
Don leaves behind an older brother Doug Voelker, his wife Mary Voelker, three sons Todd, Troy, and Tyler and five grandchildren Mason, Logan, Malachi, Zelda and Eli Voelker. Beyond the immediate family he also adopted many friends of his sons, and was always willing to listen and never afraid to share his opinion without the worry of being politically correct.
A Celebration of life will be held on May 30, 2022 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Memorial House 375 N Canyon Rd. SLC UT, 84103 and then August 1, 2022 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at 1708 NW Harbor Ave, Lincoln City OR.
