Dona Parker Kneedy's Obituary
Dona Parker Kneedy, 96, of Kaysville and West Point, passed away quietly in her sleep, on April 4, 2023 of natural causes related to age. In her last days, she was celebrated and continuously surrounded by her son and her grandchildren.
Dona was born on October 31, 1926 to Grant and Viola Parker of West Point Utah. Dona was married on January 26, 1949 to Lawrence Milton Kneedy in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. Larry and Dona had two children: Craig and Lynn. Dona was preceded in death by her son Craig in 1995 and her husband Larry in 2019.
Dona will be deeply missed by her son: J Lynn (Judie) Kneedy; grandchildren: Michele (Matt) Weyland, Jason Kneedy, Brian (Jenny) Kneedy, Joni (Tyson) Porter and their combined 13 great grandchildren; her former daughter in-law: Meg (Kevin) Wooten, brother: Gary (Janice) Parker, and countless other family. She is also survived by Judie’s children: Nico (Elisha) Suazo, Vallie Archuletta and Judie’s 7 grandchildren
A special thank you to Carsen Weyland. In March of 2020, at the onset of the COVID Pandemic, visitors were no longer allowed at Sunridge assisted Living where Dona lived. Carsen immediately began employment as a kitchen-aid, housekeeper and CNA in order to become her personal caregiver for the next year. This gave us all a peace of mind that we cannot articulate in words. In her last days, he too was vigilant, and he personally helped her to bed for the very last time.
We would also like to thank the nurse Katie Warner and CNA Dominga Lucero-Priest from Inspiration Hospice for the compassionate care provided to Dona and our family.
At her hand-written request, a small graveside service will be held. Close family are invited to attend. Time and date: 12:00pm on Tuesday April 11, 2023, at the West Point City Cemetery (80 North 4000 West ~ West Point, Utah, 84015).
