Donald Ivan Bartlett's Obituary
Donald I Bartlett quietly passed away on September 18, 2011 at the age of 84. He was born on March 30, 1927 in Pocatello, Idaho to Ira Bartlett and Elizabeth Plastino Bartlett. He grew up in the South Salt Lake area and graduated from Granite High School. He served his country in the Army during WWII. He met and married his lifelong sweetheart Heather Shutt. They had six children He is survived by his wife, Heather, American Fork, Utah and his children, Kathi (Bryce) Anderson, American Fork, Utah; Mark (Connie) Bartlett, South Jordan, Utah; Janet Barnett, Orem, Utah; Bruce (Kim) Bartlett, Lindon, Utah; Virginia (Robert) Steggell, Riverton, Utah and Jon (Mindi) Bartlett, Bluffdale, Utah; 27 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and his sister Iris Bartlett Grow of Oroville, California . He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. Don worked for 27 years for Patrick Dry Goods Company of Salt Lake as an area representative in Southeastern Idaho. He later worked as an insurance agent in the Orem area. After retiring, he and Heather moved to Ivins, Utah to enjoy the warm weather returning to American Fork after his health began to decline so he could be near his family. He joined the LDS Church after his marriage to Heather and they became an Eternal Family when they were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. He was a faithful member of the Church from the time he joined until his death setting the example for his family. He served in many callings and was always where he needed to be when he needed to be there. Funeral services will be held Thursday September 22nd at 11:00 am at the LDS Chapel on 540 West 949 North, American Fork, Utah. Friends and family may call Wednesday evening at the chapel from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and from 10:00 am to 10:45 am prior to the funeral. Interment will be in the Orem City Cemetery at 1520 North 800 East, Orem, Utah. The family would like to thank Kent and Kelsie of Life Path Hospice.
