Donald Lee Carlton's Obituary
Donald Lee Carlton, 86, resident of West Jordan, Utah, passed away on October 19, 2022 with family members by his side. Don was born September 14, 1936 in Gillette, Wyoming to James Frank Carlton, Sr. and FlorenceBell Carlton. He married Arlene Foster of Sinclair, Wyoming on October 6, 1956 in Casper, Wyoming. They celebrated their 64th anniversary prior to her passing. From this union, four children were born: Starla, Clint, Wes and Kelley.
Don and his family operated Carlton’s Texaco in Wamsutter, Wyoming for 22 years. Don also worked in Colorado, Wyoming and Utah as a well-known square dance caller.
He is survived by his children, Starla (Rod) Cairns, Clint (Michele) Carlton and Wes Carlton, four granddaughters and 9 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Arlene, daughter KelleyCarlton Chance, grandson Casey Carlton, and his siblings James F. Carlton Jr, Evelyn Alm, Leila Fay “Bunky” Morrison, Teddy Carlton and LaDeena Carlton.
A memorial service will be held next summer in the Red Desert area of Wyoming.
